Secure Your Time-Slot

Reservations are mandatory. Tickets for the Hypogeum (Underground) and Arena open 30 days in advance. Use the official Parco Archeologico portal or your ItaliaPass member ID to book.

Security Clearance

Arrive at the "Sperone Valadier" entrance at least 15 minutes before your time-slot. You must pass through an airport-style metal detector. Liquid containers over 0.5L and glass bottles are not permitted.

Start at the first level to view the complex cross-section of the Cavea. If you hold a Full Experience ticket, proceed to the Hypogeum tunnels to see where the pegmata (elevators) once hoisted gladiators into the light.

Yes. Every official Colosseum ticket includes a single entry to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. With the standard 24-hour ticket, you can visit these sites within 24 hours of your first entry. The Full Experience ticket extends this validity to 2 consecutive days.

Can I visit the Colosseum at night?

Special "Luna sul Colosseo" (Moon over Colosseum) guided tours are typically available from April through October. These require a separate specific ticket and offer exclusive access to the Arena and Underground after the general public has departed.
